While I’d prefer to leave most of my work open to your interpretation, this one comes with a background story. My friend Sam is one of the most talented and prolific photographers and artists I know. She’s funny, independent, caring and wildly creative. In early July, she posted a selfie wearing a tiara. The picture made me think of the strength that people muster to not only make it through a day, but also to shine among the masses. Strength. Determination. Perseverance. Confidence. Redemption. When you straighten your crown, you take command over your circumstances in life. You honor yourself and you become a beacon to others.
